Beyoncé & Ronald Isley Have a New Collaboration: Listen to a Snippet of ‘Make Me Say It Again, Girl’
The song is Beyoncé and The Isley Brothers' debut collaboration.
Beyoncé has new music to share with fans after reigning at the top of the Billboard 200 with Renaissance and bursting to the top of the Billboard Hot 100 with "Break My Soul."
On Tuesday, iHeartRadio premiered "Make Me Say It Again, Girl," a new collaboration between Beyoncé and Ronald Isley & The Isley Brothers (Aug. 9). The new duet is a reworking of "Make Me Say It Again Girl (Part 1 & 2)," a hit from The Isley Brothers' 1975 The Heat Is On album, which was the group's first No. 1 record on the Billboard 200.
Ron Isley and his wife Kandy first hinted at the big partnership in a June 2021 interview with Variety. Beyoncé's first non-Renaissance collaboration in 2022 is "Make Me Say It Again, Girl." Queen Bey's new period has so far provided the Beyhive with collaborations with Beam ("Energy"), Madonna ("Break My Soul (The Queens Remix)"), and Grace Jones & Tems ("Move"). The new song is the Isley Brothers' first musical release since the Snoop Dogg-assisted "Friends and Family" landed at No. 13 on the Adult R&B Airplay chart last summer.
"Make Me Say It Again, Girl" follows Beyoncé's incredibly successful chart week. The "Break My Soul" vocalist put all 16 Renaissance songs on the Billboard Hot 100. Queen Bey is also the first woman to hold the top spot on the Billboard 200, Hot 100, and Artist 100 at the same time. Furthermore, Renaissance had the highest first-week sales total for a female artist this year, as well as the second-highest first-week sales total for any 2022 album.
